Annual CAMBC/RTF combined trail work day

November 14, 2015 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
OHill: Fontaine Entrance
Fontaine Ave
Charlottesville, VA 22903

What: Annual CAMBC/RTF combined trail work day.

When: Saturday November 14th. 8ish to 12ish

Where: Bottom of OHill at the Fontaine fire road.

Why: We are rerouting a social trail that is eroding down a cliff onto the 250 on ramp and rerouting a fall line trail.

Who: There should be a ton of volunteers from CAMBC, the RTF, UVA outdoors, UVa Madison House etc. In addition the local middle school and high school mountain bike teams like CRC and Cutaway will be volunteering.  The Waldorf school is also a potential.  i.e. there will be a ton of volunteers so I will need lots of folks to supervise all these well meaning volunteers to keep them safe and productive.

The skinny: This is a the annual (3rd, 4th or 5th?) CAMBC and RTF combined trail work day that celebrates our two organizations working together to the same goal:  Awesome sustainable shared trails in Charlottesville.  We have also coordinated with Don Sundgren and have UVa’s official approval. I have been working with Diana Foster of the RTF board who is one of the original RTF board members and is also on the board of the Ivy Creek Foundation.   Thanks to Will Sanford, Jason Hisor, and Dave Stackhouse with the reroute planning.  This workday should add some very sweet new trail at OHill.
