CAMBC will have our next trailwork day on Saturday, February 17, from 9am to Noon. Our plan is to work on re-routing a steep and eroded downhill on the slope just below the last reroute we did on our joint RTF/CAMBC work day a few weeks ago. This improvement in the OHill trail system will allow us to remove a steep section of fall line trail that is difficult for all except expert riders to negotiate and is prone to erosion from excessive water flow. Our planned reroute will create a sustainably designed downhill/uphill contour trail that will still be challenging but will not cause erosion issues. This is a multi-day trail improvement project. When complete the new trail will provide ¼ to 1/2 mile of fun and challenging terrain.
When: Saturday, February 17, 9am to noon. Some of us will be meeting at Bodos on Emmet around 8am for breakfast, loading tools and carpooling from the CAMBC shed.
Where: Meet in the parking areas up near the observatory on Ohill (or Bodos/CAMBC shed as listed above).
What: Dress for the weather; wear sturdy footwear. We’ll supply tools and instruction. No prior experience required.
Who: We need as many volunteers as we can muster. This is a BIG project.
Why: Fun to build, even funner to ride. Make Ohill Great Again!
