Trail Work

PayDirt* -- NEW in 2010! Participants in the Virginia Off-road Racing Series can earn VORS points for CAMBC trail work through the VORS PayDirt program. Come help CAMBC and win races!

CAMBC is involved with performing trail work at a number of regional venues. Areas we help maintain include Walnut Creek Park, Observatory Hill, Sherando/Big Levels and various other spots in the George Washington National Forest.

When attending any work day, CAMBC recommends you wear long pants, full shoes, eye protection and work gloves. Bringing any hand saws, chainsaws, clippers, or other tools to use would also be helpful. Please also bring food and water for yourself to stay happy and hydrated.

And always remember, trail work is FUN!

Reporting Needed Trailwork

To facilitate reporting of areas of trails that need work (downed logs, wasp/bee nests, etc., CAMBC has marked up copies of O-Hill and Walnut Creek Park trail maps. Please use the labels corresponding to the section of trail that needs work on the marked up versions of the trail maps to facilitate communication with trailwork crews: Please report trail conditions and needed trailwork to the CAMBC Forum under Trail Conditions or Trailwork, respectively.

Upcoming Work Days

We tentatively schedule trail work at Walnut Creek for the first Saturday of each month at 10am in the fishing parking lot, but these work days are frequently rescheduled so stay tuned to the CAMBC Forum (check in Trailwork forum subtopic) and this web page for updates.
